The Harendong tea estate was founded in 2006 and is a certified producer of organic tea. It is located in the mountains close to the Mount Halimun national park on the island Java in Indonesia. In the morning and afternoon the tea garden, which is situated 800 up to 1000 meter above sea level, is often covered in fog. The combination of the chilly weather, the high amount of rainfall over the year and mineral rich soil creates the perfect biotope for this high-quality tea. The Java Red Curly Leaf got its name from the very special curled leaves of the Camellia sinensis var. sinensis tea plant.
The wonderful gold-brown colour of the brewed tea promises an intensive tea-experience. The flavour of this gentle, nutritious black tea is sweet and malty. In the end, the fine caramel and floral taste proves the elegance of the Java Red Curly Leaf.
