The tea Österreichische Bergkräuter, which means Austrian alpine herbs, has its origin in the Mühlviertel close to the Czech border. The Farmer in this remote county area decided in 1986 to save their farms by producing organic alpine herbs. The output target was to produce completely organic foods. These organic herbs are growing on small fields far away of any industrial areas or large roads. The hilly scenery with a hight between 500 and 900 meter above sea level holds the prefect cultivation conditions for the Austrian alpine herbs. Often the only possibility to pant and work the fields is by manual labour which needs many hours. Thats one reason for the high-quality of the herbs, another one is the fact that the farms which produce for the Austrian alpine herbs are regulated be the organic-food-auditors of Austria.
The aroma of this herbal tea mixture reminds of a blooming meadow in the Alps. Balm and mint are the characterizing fresh flavors of this tea. The combination of strawberries and raspberries ad a fruity kick while anise and yarrow take care of the slight spicy part.
