The Tai Ping Hou Kui is one of the most famous Chinese teas. The cultivation area of the of the China Tai Ping Hou Kui is in the south of China, in the north of the Huang Shan mountain range. The province of Anhui is home for the Shi Da tea plant. The unusual length of around ten centimeter reminds of a bamboo leaf as well as the light green colour. The tea pickers only select the two youngest leaves an the bud. Due the fertile soil and the humid mountain region the leaves stay very soft despite the size of the leaves.
The crystal-clear green of the brewed tea catches the attention while the sent of orchids reaches the nose. The origin of that sweet odour are the orchids growing around the garden. The first try of the tea shows a floral-sweetens which makes this green tea a well known and rare delicacy.
