Matcha tea powder, now enjoying a reputation as a superfood, delivers an exceptional tea experience. Elaborately ground in traditional stone mills, the powder is obtained by the tencha method from exclusive Japanese green tea plants. Only a tiny elite of Japan’s tea growers are able to produce matcha tea, because matcha grows in special shaded tea plantations. The tea plant compensates for the lack of sun with the intensive production of chlorophyll, which accounts for the unique, bitter taste. The stick lembke organic matcha comes from the Shizuoka Prefecture, a tea-growing area in the foothills of Mount Fuji in Japan. A perfect climate for the tea plant prevails here, and the Shizuoka Prefecture is not only world famous for the cultivation of green tea but also and especially for its outstanding quality standards. We regularly pay visits to the tea plantations and know the tea growers personally. Our premium matcha has a dry, somewhat grassy taste with a slight hint of sweetness. Thanks to its natural caffeine content, matcha is primarily appreciated as an all-natural stimulant.
Preparation: Pour approx. 80 ml of water off the boil onto a tip of a teaspoon of matcha. Beat vigorously with a bamboo whisk or milk frother until a fine foam forms. Or simply add to your yoghourt, smoothy or muesli – and it’s ready.
